How to Connect a Domain to a Server or Hosting
To set up a domain name can be a very easy thing to do. Once you register your domain name , the next thing to do is to connect it to your hosting server.
1.You have a hosting plan with already with us.
If you have a Starter, shared hosting or even a Business plan with us, you need to point the domain to our Web Hosting DNS nameservers If the domain is registered with wehostafrica, it can be easily done in your wehostafrica clients account in the following way :Click to view the meaning of Nameservers
1) Sign into your wehostafrica account (The Sign In option is available in the header of the page):
2) Select Domains from the left sidebar and click the with selected button next to your domain in the list: That after you must have selected the domain name you want to connect to a server.
3) After selecting, click on manage nameservers . Enter the nameserver , you may use default nameservers or you enter your custom nameservers.
Click change nameservers.
If your domain is registered with another registrar, you will need to obtain the correct nameservers from us and then configure the DNS on their side.
PLEASE NOTE: After setting the nameservers for your domain, if the domain is not the main one for your hosting account, you will also need to add it as Addon to your cPanel.
2. You have a hosting plan elsewhere and you were provided with the nameservers for your domain.
To connect a domain to a third-party server or hosting plan via nameservers that you received from your hosting provider, you need to set these nameservers as Custom for your domain. You can do that in the following way:
1) When you sign into your account, select Domains from the left sidebar and click the with selected. Then after clicking on the manage nameservers, enter the nameservers section and select Custom nameserver from the drop-down menu:
2) After that, enter your hosting nameservers one by one in each line (if you need to set more than 2 nameservers, press the change nameserver button.
It may take about 24-48 hours for your domain to propagate after the nameservers update to be resolving properly all over the world.
PLEASE NOTE: Some hosting providers may provide you with nameservers with IP addresses for them. Entering nameservers would be enough.
